Meet Philippe Courtot

Philippe is a true technological visionary. In 1988 he saw the value of email and started a company called cc:mail which he sold three years later for $55 million to Lotus. He was ahead of the technological curve again when he foresaw the value of online payments and the need to secure them. As CEO of an electronic payments company Signio, Philippe repositioned Signio to be one of the prime secure payment provider in the e-commerce industry. Signio was acquired by VeriSign in 2000 for $1.3 billion. In 1999 Philippe started investing in Qualys and later became CEO because he knew that the future of computing that historically was performed on site will move to the cloud and more importantly, that the cloud we need to be secured.
